Gretchen is an incredible therapist.
I saw Gretchen for approximately 3 years on a regular basis, and since then have kept in contact. She has seen me through high school, college, and beyond. Her warmth and personality make the sessions feel comfortable and relaxed, and she has taught me valuable coping skills that I use to this day. I would not hesitate to recommend Gretchen to any teen or young adult that feels that they would benefit from mental health services.

Her compassion towards others and her dedication to her profession are apparent in the first few moments of meeting her. Gretchen helped me help myself at a time where I wasn’t sure if I was ever going to be able to get better. Her experience in family dysfunction, trauma, anxiety, and depression made me feel competent and supported as I learned healthy ways to deal with these experiences.

Gretchen, you have shaped my life in innumerable ways, and will continue to do so through your unwavering support and empathy. Thank you. This recommendation is but a small ripple in the large pond of community and love that you have cultivated for everyone who needs a champion.

Gretchen Mayer is one in a million. She listens without judgement, and allows clients to explore their feelings in a safe space. Gretchen is intelligent and intuitive- instead of telling clients the “right” answer, she encourages looking at the available solutions to problems and helps guide them to the decisions best for them. She encourages clients to continue their self growth outside of therapy- suggesting relevant movies and books that often prove enlightening and informative. The wealth of knowledge and support Gretchen brings to her practice is unmatched- and I know this is as I have seen several therapists before being lucky enough to find a place within Gretchen’s practice.

I have struggled with anxiety my entire life, and I have never found anyone who understood my condition quite like Gretchen Mayer. When I met Gretchen in August of 2012, my anxiety had escalated so badly that I had quit my job, I refused to drive, and could barely even leave my house. I let my anxiety get so severe that I stopped my entire life, and I thought that there was nothing that could fix it. Gretchen made me feel so comfortable right from the start, and she really is the best listener I have ever met. In a reasonably short time, Gretchen helped me get my life back. She gave me the tools to overcome my anxiety and helped me understand how to really live again. She has taught me a new way to look at my condition so that I will be able to control it on my own on a day-to-day basis. Without Gretchen I truly don’t know where I would be today. I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone who is seeking therapy or just wants someone to talk to. Gretchen Mayer honestly saved me and I will forever be grateful for all that she has given me.

Thank you for being such a help and source of comfort and guidance for our daughter. I know she benefitted from her talks with you and I’m glad you’ll be available to her in the future.

I have a long history of bad choices in love. In the past two years I have been with an abusive man. Gretchen has helped me see through the chaos and gave me ideas of how to come through this time in my life.

Gretchen took me back into my early years and help me figure out why I made the decisions that I do where they root from. She has been non-judgemental which is important to me. I have always felt that she is on my side. I was able to break free of my bad relationship. I am now more aware of my issues when it comes to romance. I feel confident that I will not fall into the same pattern again.

Thanks Gretchen 🙂
